President Nana Akufo-Addo recently commissioned the building of the Ghana Awards House project.
The project according to the President is an administrative building for the Heads of States Award Scheme.
Once completed, the Ghana Award House project will be a two-storey office block, with a two hundred (200) capacity conference room, and training facility designed to house the National Secretariat of the Head of State Award Scheme.
According to information gathered by Pataapa.com,
the Ghana Awards House project will cost the country GHC 5million.
Few hours after the photos from the sod-cutting ceremony surfaced online, Ghanaians on twitter reacted to the project.
They expressed their dissatisfaction over the project citing that there a lot needs in the country than just building another ‘unwanted’ awards house.
One twitter user described the project as a “senseless ” and called on the President to halt the project and focus on solving the basic needs of water, light and schools in the country.
Also, ace newscasters, Bridget Otoo and Nana Aba Anamoah disagreed with the award house project.
According to Bridget, President Akufo-Addo should stop mocking Ghanaians.
