We Are Heading Straight To Court – NDC’s Dr Grace Ayensu Danquah

The Essikadu-Ketan National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the 2020 general elections, Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah has warned of resorting to the courts to seek redress over what she describes as the fraud that has been perpetrated on the people of Essikadu-Ketan constituency in the just ended parliamentary elections.

According to a press statement signed by Mr. Solomon Yaw Nkansa, the Western Region Chairman of the Campaign Sub-Committee in charge of Communications, and released this evening, December 8, 2020, the office of Dr. Grace Danquah expresses dissatisfaction with how the elections were called in favour of the incumbent Joe Ghartey.

“The office of Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah and the entire Essikadu-Ketan constituency expresses our outrage at the fraudulent declaration of Joe Ghartey as the winner of the just-ended parliamentary contest by the returning officer of Essikadu Ketan constituency,” the statement read.

According to the statement, it is surprising how the EC officials could collate results without the presence of the officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after the exercise stalled the night before. They accused the officials of the Electoral Commission of colluding with the NPP’s Joe Ghartey to declare the election in his favour.

“How could the returning officer continue with the collation process that got stalled last night without inviting the NDC. When the NDC got wind that the EC officials were doing the collation process again, our members got there and the EC officials hurriedly told them that they were done with the process even though the EC officials were aware of a lot of irregularities and fraudulent activities which occasioned the cessation of the collation process last night. Hence, if they wanted to start the whole collation process again, would it not be prudent if they called the NDC, if they had nothing to hide?

“This is evidence of a collaborative thievery between Joe Ghartey and the Essikadu-Ketan EC officials to deny Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah her Victory,” the statement read.

The party assured that it will use every legitimate means to address the issue.

“We are by this statement, assuring all our teeming supporters whose sovereign will is being compromised or denied. We call on the team to remain calm and that we will use every legitimate means to restore hope and to correct all the wrongs that they have visited on us. We will not accept these fraudulent results,” they stated.
