Arsenal’s big-money signing this summer, Thomas Partey, put up a show on his full debut against Rapid Wien in the Europa League on October,22.
Partey won the man of the match for a magnificent performance and earned praise from the fans as well as some former players for his display.
The 27-year-old midfielder was brought in for 50m euros from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day and made his premier league debut in Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Man City, where he came on for the final 8 minutes.
Starting in a 4-4-2 system by head coach Mikel Arteta, the Ghanaian midfielder made the most tackles (5), most ball recoveries (8), and the most ariel duels won (4)”
Arteta was impressed with Partey’s performance “I think he held the midfield by himself in the second-half when we were a little bit more open and started to take more chances attacking certain spaces with some players. But I think he was fantastic tonight and there is much more to come from him obviously.” He said in his post match.
Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves said on BT Sports “Thomas Partey had one of the best debuts I’ve ever seen. This guy makes it look so easy. Everybody is looking to him. He runs the whole game, you can tell he’s been playing in the Champions League – it’s too easy for him.”
