SHATTA WALE OPENS UP ON THE DECISION OF LIFTING HIS BAN
Reggae Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale has shared his displeasure on the decision of the board of Ghana Music Awards on the release of his indefinite ban.
Following the revelation on the consideration of lifting the ban on the two Reggae Dancehall Artists, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, the SM leader on PEACE FM vented out his discontent on the drastic decision of the board as a way of reprimanding them for their behaviour.
“I don’t know for Stonebwoy but I told him that anytime that Charterhouse would want to bring us back with the disgrace they made us face, they will have to come into negotiation with us” He added, “Because me as Shatta Wale, with how far I have come in the music industry with so much achievement, I don’t know what awards would do to me now because VGMA uses us to make money yet they’re disgracing us. I have never benefited anything from this award but they ended up locking me up in the police cell, they think they’re playing with kids”.
The decision to ban the two award winning artists during the 2019 incident on the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) event had created a lot debate on the media with some people in support of the decision taken by the board to serve as a check on their behaviour as well as a lesson for other artists. On a regular basis, people are reprimanded for their negative behaviours but on the side of Shatta Wale, he thinks it was harsh.
