Promote my song the same way you promoted my picture – Wendy Shay
Reacting to the huge criticisms received on her controversial picture, Wendy Shay has come out with another post on Instagram, justifying her new appearance.
The popular Ghanaian songstress made news with a recent picture of herself posted on her Instagram account.
Although most of her fans loved her new style, the picture has received a lot of hate comments and criticisms on social media.
In the photo, Wendy Shay was seen with a whole new appearance. She looked unusually fierce in her black dress with her high-held locks and bold lipstick. The singer also wore many earrings than usual.
Many people have trolled her for trying to look like the late Ebony Reigns. Ebony Reigns was a signee of Rufftown Records before her demise in 2018. Apart from her great voice and energetic performances, Ebony was known for her unique physical appearance. She had always rocked her hair in dreadlocks and wore bold lipstick colours. The late singer also had several ear piercings, all of which were present in Wendy Shay’s current style.
Wendy Shay has however shared a post on her Instagram page in which she revealed the reason for her recent look. It was clear from her message that the photo had indeed served its purpose since her name trended along with that of the late Ebony Reigns.
“Dear Ebony, yesterday you trended in GH for the 1st time in a long while. just because I posted a Pic, they said I look like you and I am copying you. They have no idea why that Look,” the post read.
The songstress disclosed that she was set to release a new song which will feature two singles from the late Ebony Reigns.
“Two singles from you were released after your untimely demise but no one pushed or gave attention to these amazing songs,” she said.
She added, “Ebony x Wendy Shay on one song what do you guys think?”
The singer further admonished her trolls, ” Kindly use the same energy used in circulating my pic to push this song.”
Wendy Shay ended her post with the caption, “Ebony lives on #Rufftownrecordstotheworld.”
