Asante Kotoko SC, head coach, Maxwell Konadu says improving defensively is one of the team’s objectives ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season (GPL).
According to Maxwell, he wants his outfit to keep many clean sheets as possible and thus has been working on his defense during the preseason.
Kotoko has kept only two clean sheets out of their six preseason games and home to improve before their first league game against Eleven Wonder in Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking with the club’s media, the one-time GPL winner said- “We want to focus mostly on keeping clean sheets as many as we can. That is one of the things that can help us amass points and become champions”
“We want to keep many clean sheets as many as possible” he added.
Unfortunately, the porcupines will be without highly-rated defender Musairu Seidu who picked up a metatarsal injury during pre-season and is ruled out for few weeks.
Kotoko will hope to win the league for the first time since 2014.
