After eight years in power another party wins the elections, however, Mr Oppong Nkrumah says the the New Patriotic Party-led government will work hard to break that narrative.

“It’s a well-known fact that since 1992, the Ghanaian electorate changes the political party that has governed the nation for eight years, no matter the performance of that particular party,” Mr Oppong Nkrumah said as he responded to a question regarding EIU’s latest research.
The Information Minister further stated that the ruling government was well aware of the country’s electoral trends since it returned to multiparty democracy in 1992.
According to him, the policies and programmes to be enrolled for implementation in the next four years would help revive the economy, create jobs and turn the electoral fortunes in favour of the NPP in the 2024 polls.
