NDC Officially Announces Intentions To Challenge The 2020 Elections Results In Court

The leaders of the biggest opposition party in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress have officially mentioned their intentions to challenge the results of the 2020 elections in Court.

In a communique released by the party, Aseidu Nkatiah, famously known as “General Mosquito” mentioned that after several meetings with the executive of the party, they have come to conclusion that they are officially ready to challenge the outcome of this year’s election results in Court.

The decision made was as a result of several protests and demonstrations over the week, which fell on the deaf ears of the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

The 2020 Elections results which was declared by Madam Jean Mensah, Tuesday, December 9, 2020 recorded the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led administration,
New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo poll 6,730, 413 (51.59%) of the total votes cast, whiles John Mahama garnered 6, 214, 889 (47.36%) of the total votes cast.

But the NDCs have claimed that the EC declared the results in the favour of the ruling government, the New Patriotic Party which is led by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

The stance of the National Democratic Congress have gotten a full support from the members and the supporters of the party.

Several groups from the National Democratic Congress have hit the street across the national after the EC declayed in favour of the New Patriotic Party.

The National Democratic Congress claim that per the data they have in hand, they strongly believe the John Dramani Mahama won the Presidential Seat, but the EC declayed the result on favour of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

It was alleged that the legal team to represent the National Democratic Congress have advised the party executives to let go of the issue since the information they have in hand isn’t solid enough to prove their points that the NDC won the Presidential election.

So, to put all allegations to a stop, the leaders of the party has officially made it clear that they want to challenge the outcome of the 2020 Elections in court.
