Kotoko CEO Owns Up To His Mistake In The Process Of Sacking Coach Maxwell Konadu
Asante Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah has admitted that he did not notify the board officially before axing Maxwell Konadu as the club’s head coach.
Kotoko part ways with the former Black Stars B coach after winning only one out of four games in the new Ghana Premier League season.
Maxwell was appointed in 2019 and took charge of 21 games, which he won 9 and drew 7, losing 5 of them.
Nana Yaw Amponsah speaking with Oyerepa FM conceded that he used the wrong procedure by not writing to the board officially before showing Konadu the exit.
“We are all learning. When I make mistakes I will admit them. In terms of corporate governance, if you are dealing with the board the only recognized dealing is the one you have written to the board. Or write to the board chairman through the board secretary. If you talk to any board member privately on phone and you assume it official you are mistaken.” he said
“That is where I would say that officially I have accepted that I did a mistake. I didn’t write to the board through the secretary. I have apologized for not writing officially to the secretary. It was an error by me to assume that an informal conversation is a formal one.” he admitted
