Just In: NPP Loses Sene West Seat To NDC Over A Court Ruling Making 137 Parliamentary Seats For Each Party
The Wenchi high court has struck out a petition to annul declaration of Sene West parliamentary in favour of the NDC. The court described the Petition as irredeemably incompetent.
A cost of 14 thousand has been awarded agaisnt petitioner who is the npp candidate for sene west.
This is a big win for the NDC as this it will build confidence in them and cause them to send the presidential electoral dispute to the Supreme Court.
This also means the NDC will have 137 seats in parliament. It makes the two major political parties to have 137 seats each with one independent candidate.
The NPP wanted the court to overturn the parliamentary election results declaration by the EC returning officer which saw the NDC parliament candidate winning the seat. Now that the court has rule that it is upholding the declaration by the EC.
