Good news for Airteltigo Users as there’s reduction in call tarrifs and increase in Data volume
Airteltigo Ghana has said that they will reduce their call tarrifs and increase their data volume effectively on Monday, 26th October, 2020.
This changes came as a result of the reduction of the Communication Service Tax this year.
This means that airteltigo subscribers will spend less in both credit for calls and internet bundle. This move by the company will help Ghanaians to spend less in credit and also pushes their competitors like MTN, Vodafone and the rest to do the same.
Somewhere last two months, the Government in power led by His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo Dankwa Addo reduced the Communication Service Tax to help Ghanaians spend less on both internet data and credit for calls. This move came as Ghanaians and other stake holders mount pressure on the Government to reduce the Communication Service Tax after it was increased unexpectedly.
The Communications Service Tax (CST) is one levied on fees paid by electronic communications service providers for the use of communications services. Under Section 1 of the Communications Service Tax Act 2008 (Act 754) and under the CST(Amendment) Act 2013 (Act 864), CST is levied.
