Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council declares stance on LGBT

The General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) Rev. Emmanuel Bariga has declared that the council is going to do anything in their power to prepare the minds of future generations against the influence of homosexuality.
Rev. Emmanuel Bariga in an interview with Starr FM expressed his discontent over the prevalence of homosexuality in the country and how everyone is looking on as if it is normal irrespective of how our religion as Christians frown upon such act.
“For us as a nation, it’s a no-no, I think the greatest law that we can think about is our conscience of this nation has bought into. It’s not something we want someone to impose on us. Me as a Christian, this devilish act is not something we are going to accept. He added “We are going to make sure we imbibe in the generation to come to a hostile attitude towards this act. This act is against the conscience of this nation and were not going to accept it. We can think about what happens to the office later. We’ll not do anything illegal but we don’t think there’s anything right or human about LGBTQ. No one should try and throw dust in our eyes”.
This is subsequent to the recent LGBTQ fundraising activity in Accra which saw the appearance of the Australian High Commission with the support of the European Union which was stated on Facebook. “A couple of weeks ago, the EU in Ghana, participated in the opening of the new community space of the @LGBTRightsGhana. Equality, tolerance and respect for each other are core values of the EU”.
The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic council is one institution which has since time in memorial always frowned upon the acts of homosexuality as it goes against their norms and values as an institution and to the latter, their Christian values and morals.
