Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has scooped another big award after he was named the Serie A player of the year 2019-20 season.
The ceremony was delayed by the outbreak of the coronavirus but prizes and awards have been given out to winners.
Serie A champions, Juventus swept most of the awards and prizes voted for by a panel of coaches, referees, players and journalists.
Well, unsurprisingly and deservedly, there would always be one real candidate to win the Player of the year award, with the 36-year-old netting 37 times in 46 games in all competitions to help Juventus win their ninth consecutive Scudetto title.
Ronaldo said, ‘I could not have been happier and more proud of the Player of the Year distinction obtained for the second time since I arrived in Italy.
‘Thank you very much for this recognition to the Italian Footballers’ Association, Juventus, my teammates and our fans.
‘However, allow me today to dedicate this award to all those unknown to the general public who work daily to make Juventus one of the greatest clubs in the world.
‘Behind our collective glory and our individual triumphs, there is always a huge entourage of professionals who give their all so that we don’t lack for anything.
‘Today my thanks go to these less visible but nonetheless important faces for our successes. They are true heroes.
‘Finally, I would like to promise the whole Juventus universe that we will continue to work until the last day because we can still, all together, have reasons to celebrate this season. ‘Until the end!’
Cristiano Ronaldo has won his second Player of the year award in Italy after joining the Old Lady’s from Real Madrid in 2018.
Ronaldo, together with his teammates; Dybala and Bonuuci made the Men’s team of the year.
