COVID-19: Prez. Akufo-Addo gives green light for resumption of schools at all levels

Students at all levels of education will return to their various schools to resume to their academic activities.

This becomes part of government’s method to ease the COVID-19 induced restrictions on educational activities.

This was announced by President Akufo-Addo in his 21st address to nation on Sunday, January 3, 2020.

President Akufo-Addo explained that Basic school students from Kindergarten (KG) to Junior High School (JHS) will resume to their academic activities from Friday, January 15, 2020.

Whiles Senior High School (SHS) 2 & 3 students resume to school on January 18, 2021.

First year SHS students to also begin school on March 10, 2021.

And tertiary students also resume their academic calendar from Saturday, Janurary 9, 2021.

The resumption of academic activities were agreed after some government officials held many discussions with stakeholders within the education sector to formulate a comprehensive plan on the resumption of schools.
