Asamoah Gyan Reacts Against Joyfm’s Recent Post On His Penalty Loss
Ghanaian International footballer, Asamoah Gyan popularly known as Baby Jet has expressed his displeasure against Joy FM on their recent reopening of his penalty loss. The former Black Star captain who is also acclaimed one of the top goal scorers in the country took to twitter to express his discontent against Joy FM’s action.
Joy FM in one of their recent posts asked its followers on social media about how they feel about Asamoah Gyan’s missed penalty which occurred in 2010 world cup hosted in South Africa. This gained a massive uproar and debate as people shared their personal feelings on how they were affected by the penalty miss out.
It’s been over a decade and Ghanaians still remember the incident like it happened today. On regular posts, people always blame and attribute the causes and effects of issues to Asamoah Gyan’s penalty miss out mostly for fun as it clearly indicates that the comment do not in any way relate to the post.
The mockery on Asamoah Gyan’s penalty miss out has long since been one of the popular comments on social media and so with Joy FM’s post on it sparked up a lot of flames. In as much as people try to have fun, the feelings of the victim has always come to play as Asamoah Gyan is not really happy about all the fuss about the incident. In a twitter post he shared that “I have lost respect for you guys. From today, @Joy997FM is out on of my list. You should be ashamed of yourself. Learn how to respect. Smh”.
The incidence of the missed penalty was a match between Ghana and Uruguay and Ghanaians had high hopes of winning to qualify to the semi-finals. Therefore it became a heavy blow when he missed that penalty as this was going to be the first time the country advanced to that stage.
