
Ghana’s security agencies in alliance with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) will today, November 26, 2020, go on a nationwide march ahead of the 2020 general elections.
This peace march is to gain trust from Ghanaians that the security services are ready to provide the needed security for the general elections.
The peace march has be code-named ‘TAFIA LAFIYA’ (Peace March). The march excercise started at 6am and will end at 12 noon.
Security services participating in the peace march are the Police Service, the Armed Forces, Prisons Service, National Fire Service; Immigration Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, the National Intelligence Bureau together with the National Ambulance Service.
“Due to the march, there will be vehicular traffic and diversions on streets of the areas earmarked, at certain times of the morning.”
”However, security personnel will be deployed to manage the traffic and diversions.” A statement from the Ghana Police Service indicated.
”We encourage the public to cooperate to make the exercise successful.” The statement added.
