3 students get support to tertiary education.
Three students from the Peki Traditional area have received cash support to continue their education at the Tertiary level.
At a ceremony to launch an educational fund for brilliant but needy students, at the Lorenz Wolfe Memorial Chapel , Peki Blengo, the beneficiaries , were presented with GHS 1000.00 each.
The beneficiaries are Miss Charity Leh a graduate of the Peki Senior High School, who had 6As and 2 Bs in the just ended exam .
Mr. Courage Bonti who gained admission to the University of Cape Coast and Miss Kafui Anyomi who gained admission into the Peki College of Education we’re all awarded.
The support comes on the back of a commitment by the Dekakpuifiaga of the Peki Traditional area (Torgbe Kukurantumi II) to support needy but brilliant students.
In a quest to improve the standard of education in the area, the Chief set up the fund to help brilliant but needy students in the community.
Speaking on the importance of the fund he said ” the education of the members of this community is dear to my heart. The continuous desire to continue their education is worth emulating and all in society must support it. As we launch this fund I hope it is the beginning of greater educational support for people in this community”
In previous events, BECE candidates who excelled in their examinations were supported by the Dekakpuifiaga.
Meanwhile the Commitee of the fund will publish the accounts created to solicit for funds to support its work soon.
The Peki Traditional area forms a part of the south Dayi constituency in the Volta Region.
The area boasts of the first tertiary education facility in the Volta Region.
